When a customer calls asking about water filtration for their home, I like to schedule an initial site visit as soon as I can. This begins a process.
The process for installing a new system goes like this:
--initial site consultation, no charge, test the water with my test kit and determine if further testing is needed from Soil Control Labs
--consult with the home owner about their water problems and methods of treatment
--call my vendor and request help designing the system. The vendor will make their recommendations and give back a quote for the cost of the equipment
--create a quote for my customer that includes the equipment, my markup and cost of labor.
--if customer approves the quote. I have over 90% closing rate on my sales. Then ask vendor to ship the order
--call my plumber to schedule time with him
--day of install, I like being there because I enjoy the work, but you could return after the plumber has installed the system.
--activate the system with the customer and explain how it works and the maintenance schedule
--one follow up visit, free of charge, just incase the customer has a problem or simply has a question. We rarely have call-backs due to leaks, but if there is, I treat it as an emergency and address the problem immediately.
